Today, Chase Freedom announced its latest Q4 categories, which offers cardmembers the opportunity to get back and give back with their cashbacking. This quarter, cardmembers can take advantage of 5% cash back (up to $1,500) at PayPal, pet sh ops and vet services as well as select charities. Plus, Freedom Flex cardmembers have the chance to supersize their holiday rewards by stacking their quarterly cash back with their always-on dining cash back for a total of 7% cash back1 on all purchases at McDonald’s.

“We’re rounding out the year with another set of exciting rotating bonus categories for Chase Freedom Flex cardmembers,” said Brent Reinhard, General Manager of Chase Freedom. “Whether you’re eating out, buying something for yourself or your pet or donating to one of our select charities during the season of giving, activating these categories provides an opportunity to earn more on your cashbacking habits. Starting today through December 14, 2024, Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex cardmembers can activate to earn cash back on the following shopping moments during Q4 2024:

  • McDonald’s1: Did someone say McFlurry? Cardmembers can reward themselves with their favorite on-the-go snack, Happy Meal and more with 7% cash back on all McDonald’s purchases!
  • PayPal2: Connect a Chase Freedom card to PayPal and enjoy 5% cash back on all purchases.
  • Pet Shops and Vet Services3: With 5% cash back on pet shops and vet services, cardmembers can ensure their pets are healthy and happy.
  • Select Charities4: For those looking to give back this holiday season, Chase Freedom cardmembers can donate to select charities using their Freedom card and get 5% cash back.

Chase Freedom Flex cardmembers also continue to earn:

  • 5% cash back on travel booked through Chase TravelSM
  • 3% cash back on dining at restaurants (including takeout and eligible delivery services)
  • 3% cash back on drugstore purchases
  • 1% cash back on all other purchases

1 Purchases in the McDonald’s category include purchases at McDonald’s stores, including locations within third-party vendors, and on the McDonald’s mobile app. Delivery and takeout services will be included if they are classified under the McDonald’s restaurant merchant. Gift cards and McDonald’s merchandise purchased from 3rd parties will not be included. This quarter, Freedom Flex cardmembers can stack 5% quarterly cash back on McDonald's purchases with their standard 3% on dining. Since both quarterly cash back and standard cash back are earned as additional cash back on top of the base 1% cash back earned on each purchase, the most cardmembers will earn is 7% cash back on McDonald's (1% on every purchase + additional 2% on dining + quarterly additional 4% on McDonald's).

Purchases made using PayPal at merchants in the current 5% quarterly categories will be awarded a total of 5% Cash Back rewards. Payments made through the Xoom transfer service are not eligible for 5%. Must have/open a PayPal account. Please note, Person-to-Person (P2P) transactions made with your Chase Freedom card on PayPal may not be eligible for 5%.

Pet shops, including online pet shops, sell domestic pets, pet supplies, accessories, pet food, and/or services for the upkeep of pets. Vet Services include licensed practitioners who provide veterinary medicine, dentistry or surgery for pets, livestock and other animals. Doggy day care, pet insurance, and pet grooming will not be included.

To ensure your charitable donation is eligible for the 5% Cash Back reward, be sure to donate directly to the charity’s parent organization using the links provided here or on the Merchant List page. Local chapters may not be eligible due to transaction processing procedures.
